Music & Worship
SANCTUARY CHOIR:
The senior choir is open to all adults and high school students.  They lead the Sunday liturgies and regularly participate in retreats, workshops, and performances throughout the choir season.  Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from Labor Day through Memorial Day, from 7:30-9:00 pm in the Music Room.

TONE CHIME CHOIR:
This fun group meets on Thursdays, from 7:00-7:30 pm and performs for major holidays and at other occasions during the year.

YOUTH CHOIR:
The junior choir is for children, ages 9-13 and meets on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year.  They sing for the Christmas Pageant and for Anglican Youth Sunday in May.

CHERUB CHOIR:
This group learns new music during Children's Chapel and sings at various times during the year. Ages 3-9

FLUTE CHOIR:
This group is always looking for new flutists and plays several times a year.  Contact Anne Smith Papp for more information.

Our Organ
The church's principal instrument is a 6-rank Wicks pipe organ, installed in the early 1990's.  It is wonderfully registered and provides a wide range of voicings for hymns and anthems.

Music Staff
Our Music Director, Debby McConnell, has been with St. James' since 1994.  She has a diverse background as choral director for several community choirs.  Education includes a minor in Music from the University of Montana, and a Diploma in Church Music from the Virginia Theological Seminary.  She is currently working on an MBA in Arts Administration from George Mason University.

The church is extremely lucky to have a second organist among its parishioners.  John Thompson is a Tenor in the Senior Choir and substitutes as organist throughout the year.

Our Associate for Christian Education, Naomi Iber, teaches our youngest singers new music during Children's Chapel.
