Music Ministry

“Serve the Lord with gladness!  Come into his presence with singing!”

Psalm 100:2

Music is an integral part of worship at St. James. There are opportunities for everyone to discover how to use music as a personal expression of faith and as a means of leading others in worship.  The following are musical opportunities that are now offered at St. James.  Please consider if one of them might be a way for you to use music as part of your spiritual journey and ministry.

The SANCTUARY CHOIR sings for the 10:00am service each Sunday. It is open to all adults and high school students who enjoy singing.  We regularly sing anthems and participate in retreats and special performances throughout the year.  New members are always welcome.  Please contact the Director of Christian Music.

INSTRUMENTALISTS, SOLOISTS and ENSEMBELS:  There are always opportunities for instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages to share their musical abilities with the congregation in worship to God.  We encourage you to contact the Director of Christian Music if you would like to offer you gifts.

ABOUT OUR ORGAN:  The Wicks Pipe organ that graces the sanctuary of St. James’ Episcopal Church was installed in 1991.  The organ has six ranks of pipes and a two-manuel (keyboard) with pedal consul.  The organ is played at the 10:15am service and once a month at the 8:00am service.
